Roto-Prime® Pumps are designed to automatically remove air and vapor from the suction line to the discharge line whenever air or vapor is present - at the start of the pumping process or when there is a loss of suction due to air and vapor.

When the flowing liquid from the centrifugal portion of the pump builds up sufficient enough pressure in the discharge system, the pressure backs up through a tube to act on the bottom of the priming pump's moveable slide block. This then is placed in a neutral position. In the neutral position the priming pump will no longer evacuate air, but simply circulates a small amount of liquid.
