Safety Hose Shut Off System

Smart-Hose makes hose assemblies using the leading manufacturer's hoses and simply installing the Smart-Hose Safety System. Smart-Hose is the industry's only hose and coupling system that instantly and automatically shuts off the flow of gases and fluids in both directions in the case of hose failure due to coupling ejection, hose stretching or hose separation. Spills are minimized or eliminated and your employees as well as the environment are safe.

The unique, patented design of the Smart-Hose safety system uses a coated and uncoated (where applicable) cable within the hose bore which is connected to valve flappers or plungers at each end of the hose. Acting as a compression spring, this cable provides pressure in both directions to hold the valve flappers or plungers open under normal operating conditions. However, if this pressure is eliminated due to coupling ejection hose stretching, or hose separation, the valve flappers or plungers are instantly released, immediately stopping the flow in both directions - a simple concept that can protect your people and property, a simple concept that could save you significant time, effort and money.
